The National Federation of Norwegian Arts and Crafts is an organisation consisting of 384 local federations, 160 handicraftsmen and women and 39 sales outlets. The handicraftsmen federation has a common brand that stands as a label of quality for good handicraft. The members products must be approved by a committee before they can use this brand. This assessment takes place twice a year. The Norwegian craftsmen have a definition of their handicraft:
"Norwegian handicraft is production of artifacts mainly in natural material, with roots in tradition, adapted to todays demands for design and functionality."
The Nordland division of the National Federation that participated in the exhibition has 31 members. They display furniture inspired by the history and nature of the region, pictures embroidered in a sewing machine, woven northern lights, decorative hats, knitted baby clothes, ceramics, traditional decorative painting and Sami handicrafts, items of wood, bone and skin.
