Vestnorden Arts & Crafts 2006The third exhibition "Vestnorden Arts & Crafts" will be held in Nuuk the 11th -14th of May 2006 and it is the first time it opens in Greenland.
The exhibitors will come from countries and regions in the North Atlantic and the Arctic area as in the two previous exhibitions that were held in Iceland. Transform - West Nordic Arts and CraftsThe three West Nordic countries, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, opened the arts and crafts exhibition "Transform" at The North Atlantic Pier (Bryggen) in Copenhagen the 19th of May 2005 and after the exhibition closed in Denmark it travelled to other countries. Modern arts and crafts items are on display at the exhibition but firmly rooted in each of the three countries tradition. The Icelandic contribution to the exhibition is jewelry and adornments, the Faroe Islands show things made of wool and items made of stone and bone come from Greenland.
Vestnorden Arts & Crafts 2004The second exhibition "Vestnorden Arts & Crafts" was held in Laugardalur Sports Hall 15. - 19. september 2004. It was the largest handicrafts exhibition that has been held in Iceland and the exhibitors came from countries and regions in the North Atlantic and the Arctic area. Almost two hundred craftsmen and women participated in the exhibition. They came from 14 counties or territories on the northern hemisphere, Iceland, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, Danemark, Norway, Sweden, Finnland, Samiland, Estonia, Lithuania, Orkney, Shetland Islands, Nunavut (Canada) and the North Western Territories (Canada)
Vestnorden Arts & Crafts 2002The exhibition Vestnorden Arts & Crafts was first held in Reykjavik in November 2002 where the three West-Nordic countries were the main exhibitors. To highlight culture in the North Atlantic and Arctic area crafts people from Canada in the west to Finland and the Baltic countries in the east were invited to participate. Arts and crafts objects from twelve countries and regions were exhibited and the exhibitors came from Iceland, The Faroe Islands, Greenland, The Aland Isles, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Canada. 140 crafts people participated, and the greatest number came from the hosting nation, Iceland, 65 exhibitors.
